Each year, the Actuaries Institute recognises one individual for their contribution to the profession and the community. 

This year, however, we are pleased to announce that we are honouring two exceptional actuaries due to their profound impact and collaborative effort in advancing climate change solutions. 

Congratulations to our 2023 Actuary of the Year Award winners, Rade Musulin and Sharanjit Paddam! Both actuaries have elevated the global profile of our profession as influential voices on climate-related issues, shaping climate policy and securing a seat in this century's most crucial debate.

Council Nominations Closing Soon

Nominations inviting Fellows to stand for Council are closing on 29 September, 2023. 

As we deliver on our 2022-24 strategy, we're looking ahead and need diverse, committed leaders to continue turning our ambitions into reality. 

Of the current Council members who will serve in 2024, 29% are female. There is also a broad experience across the more traditional practice areas and by geographical location too.

Just launched: Providing better support for children with autism and developmental delay

Over the past ten years, the NDIS has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Australians living with disabilities - there is much to be proud of. However, the current Scheme is very different to the original vision.

Research from our latest Paper found that there are over 313,000 participants under the age of 18 in the NDIS, with 75% having a primary disability of autism or developmental delay. The Independent Review of the NDIS presents an opportunity to implement a social model of disability which would better support children and help make the NDIS financially sustainable.
