Nicolette Rubinsztein, President

B Bus Sc (Hons), EMBA, FIAA, GAICD

Nicolette is a Non Executive Director at UniSuper, SuperEd and Onepath Insurance. Prior to that she was a General Manager at Colonial First State/ CBA for 14 years and also on the board of ASFA for eight years. She is a graduate of AICD and also has an executive MBA from the AGSM. She is a UNSW Alumni Leader and on the  Macquarie University Faculty of Business and Economics Advisory Board. Nicolette is also author of the book, Not Guilty, about career mums.


Hoa Bui, Senior Vice President


Hoa is a Director of KPMG Actuarial Pty Ltd. She joined KPMG Actuarial as a partner in 2004, bringing 20 years’ experience working in large and small life insurers. Hoa now manages KPMG’s actuarial life insurance/financial services practice, a full service actuarial consulting practice, which incorporates risk management and claims & underwriting advice.   


Jefferson Gibbs, Vice President


Jefferson is a Senior Partner in KPMG Australia managing a team of over 20 professionals.  He has more than 23 years’ broad actuarial consulting experience, specialising in General Insurance, self-insurance and corporate risk management.  Jefferson has a passion for steering strategy in new areas of product development, which creates opportunity and drives his team and colleagues. He has worked in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.  Through his vast experience Jefferson has been involved in projects with insurers in over 20 insurance jurisdictions around the world.  He works for Government clients as well as private sector clients.  Jefferson has a depth of experience as an Appointed Actuary, strategy/policy work, peer review, audit assist, reserving and valuations. 


Ann-Maree Cook


Ann-Maree has experience across superannuation, life insurance and general Insurance having commenced her actuarial journey in a large Australian mutual before then working in both established and developing consulting practices. She more recently served as the Actuary on the Asia Pacific management team of a large multinational general insurance company. 

Andrew Doughman

BCom, BAppFin, FIAA

Andrew is a General Manager at Allianz Australia, responsible for the functions of Underwriting Services and Reinsurance. Prior to joining Allianz, he worked in a number of other roles within the general insurance industry including as a Senior (Reinsurance) Underwriter and Client Manager with Hannover Re, as a Senior Manager with EY and in Product Management for Suncorp. Andrew has deep expertise in stakeholder management having dealt with a number of different functions within insurance and reinsurance companies as well as with brokers, clients and regulators.   He is a strong believer that people are the key asset to any financial services organisation and that outperformance stems from helping people to achieve their best. Andrew is passionate about the role that insurance has to play in our ever-changing future, particularly as job functions adapt and the skillsets and cultural change that will be required to get there.  He is married and has two young children which keep him well-occupied outside of work, although he does enjoy teaching maths to the older one!

Jules Gribble


Jules has over 30 years of professional actuarial and consulting experience, covering a wide range of areas in superannuation, operational risk management, and governance.  His current focus is on retirement income.  Jules has worked in large organisations, established and developed a successful consulting businesses and been a partner in a ’Big Four’ consultancy.  He has a long-standing interest in professional and supervisor capacity building, including delivering university courses (including Part II at University of Melbourne for nearly 15 years) and many other capacity programs. Up to the end of 2018 he was with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and supported the development of international capital standards and then supervisory capacity building (including the IAIS Core Curriculum). Jules was a foundation CERA and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Steve Hui - edit

Steve Hui


Steve has over 40 years of experience in the financial and insurance services industry and in public service.  He has held executive positions in finance, investment, actuarial and IT areas in Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai and Beijing.  Steve is a Fellow and past President (1999/2000) of CPA Australia, Hong Kong China Division.  He started his actuarial career in Melbourne in 1975 with National Mutual Life (later integrated into the AXA Group).  He was transferred to AXA in Asia as their Finance Head in 1994.  He has held positions as CFO for AXA China, AIA China and Prudential in China, before setting up his consulting firm Financial Consulting Co Ltd in Hong Kong.  Steve is now the advisor to the Hong Kong Insurance Authority on the setting up of the new Solvency Standard in Hong Kong.  He was a founding member of the Actuarial Experts Panel and Solvency Standard Committee set up by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission and was Convenor of the China Embedded Value Taskforce with the work culminating in the introduction of mandatory EV reporting in China.  Steve was also active in the development of the new solvency standard in China.

Annette King


Annette is an independent non-executive director of FNZ, a fintech company specializing in wealth management technology. She is co-founder and chair of Galileo Platforms, an insurtech company.  Previously she was CEO for Manulife Singapore and has held roles as CMO, CFO and GM. Annette has worked at Manulife, AXA, Mercer, Jacques Martin and Colonial.  She has worked in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand.  Annette has previously been President of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore and also Council Member for the Singapore Actuarial Society.  She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Bill Konstantinidis

BEc, FIAA, MBA(Exec)

Bill has extensive experience within the general insurance area. He is currently General Manager Product at Covermore where he looks after the product, underwriting and actuarial teams of the company for travel insurance. He was previously Executive Manager Pricing Commercial Customer at Suncorp within the Chief Data Office (where he managed a large team of actuaries and analysts covering valuation, pricing and analysis of a wide range of general insurance products across the Suncorp Group), having held other Executive Manager positions with Suncorp prior to that. He has also held Chief Underwriting Officer/Executive Manager roles with Allianz Global Assistance, RACQ Insurance and CUNA Mutual. In 2011 he was President of the Queensland Branch of ANZIIF (Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance).

David Whittle small - edit

David Whittle

David’s current position is Principal at Deloitte.  He has had 30 years of experience in the insurance industry in a variety of business and actuarial roles.  His career has spanned general and life insurance, three different multinational insurers and three consulting firms, pls roles in reserving, pricing, underwriting and general management. Most recently, David was Chief Reserving Actuary for Zurich’s Asia-Pacific general insurance businesses, spanning nine countries, from 2013 until October 2018.  Prior to that he was a Partner at KPMG, and previously headed up Product Management and Pricing at Allianz Australia for five years.
