Support Cancer Research

Cancer remains a major cause of mortality and morbidity in our community despite intensive research by scientists for decades. It is now becoming clear that highly malignant tumours are genetically very unstable and can produce mutant tumour cells that can evade most new anti-cancer therapies. Professor Parish will describe approaches being investigated in his laboratory that are attempting to overcome this problem. The approaches include developing drugs that target non-malignant cells in tumours that are essential for cancer growth, and reinvigorating immune responses against cancers.
