Natasha De Souza (Facilitator)

Natasha is general insurance actuary with over 25 years in the industry.  Her experience is across both corporate and consulting roles, with a particular focus on long tail classes.  Her current role with EY involves advising the regulator of NSW workers compensation and CTP.  

Outside of work, Natasha likes playing tennis and travelling.

Ron Arnold

Group General Manager, IAG Ventures

Ron currently leads the Ventures function in IAG, which investigates, builds and invests in new technologies, businesses and capabilities to disrupt insurance.

Before entering the insurance industry, Ron has had and is still involved in small businesses and held senior positions in the Commonwealth and State Governments. Ron has spent over fifteen years in Exec positions in Insurance at both IAG and AAMI. His roles have spanned marketing, IT, Digital, Strategy, Operations and Innovation.

Ron holds a Bachelor of Economics, and has completed the INSEAD Advanced Management Program and the Corporate Entrepreneur program at Stanford.

Chris Dolman

Chris Dolman has wide ranging insurance industry experience, having worked across multiple countries as both an advisor and in industry, in both traditional and non-traditional roles. He is currently GM, Analytics at IAG, helping to drive data driven decision making across all aspects of the organisation.

Dr Hugh Miller

Hugh Miller is the second tallest actuary at Taylor Fry, where he has worked for the past ten years. During that time he has been involved in a wide variety of projects across general insurance. With a PhD in statistics, he has a particular interest in improved techniques for modelling in pricing and reserving work. He has also been applying these skills more broadly, most recently in customer loyalty and social sector welfare modelling.

Chao Qiao
Actuarial Consultant, PwC Acuarial and Risk practice

Chao advises clients in the insurance industry on issues ranging from forecasting, monitoring, data collection, experience analysis, reinsurance, capital and return-to-work. Chao has recently explored ways to combine actuarial analytics with behavioural economics to deliver better return-to-work outcomes to workers’ compensation claimants. Over the years, Chao has also maintained a keen interest in socially relevant research and discussions especially on longevity insurance.

Chao graduated from the University of New South Wales with first class honours in Actuarial Studies. Chao is a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary. As a young actuary, Chao actively volunteers at the Institute, most recently on Council, focusing on issues such as education and new practice areas.

Tony Vizza
Sales and Marketing Director, Sententia.

Tony has an accomplished technical and engineering background, having completed his B. Science in Computing Science from the University of Technology, Sydney, and recently completed his Global Executive MBA from the University of Sydney which included study at Stanford University, the London School of Economics and the Indian Institute of Management. He is currently completing his CISSP certification and is a member of the Australian Information Security Association and is also associated with the Australian Cyber Security Centre. Sententia is a thought leader and award-winning provider of services in the cyber security field and recognized as possessing some of the most comprehensive accreditations in the nation today.

Christopher Mackinnon
Lloyd’s General Representative in Australia

Chris Mackinnon joined Lloyd’s in February 2015 as General Representative in Australia, and is responsible for market development, and for liaising with market practitioners and regulatory authorities to maintain Lloyd’s presence in Australia.

Chris has more than 27 years’ experience in the international insurance industry, with extensive knowledge of both the Australian and London markets. Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Chris was the Chief Executive Officer at Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers, where he was responsible for the overall management of the group of companies. Chris has previously held roles in global brokerages Arthur J Gallagher, Aon and Marsh, in both Sydney and London. He started his career as a Lloyd’s Broker in London working for C T Bowring (Marine & Energy) Ltd.

Susie Amos

Susie Amos is an Actuary and Principal at Finity Consulting.  She leads the research at Finity on cyber insurance and has been particularly thinking about how insurers could best manage this new risk.
