ICA2023 Bridge to Tomorrow Selfie Competition – Terms and Conditions
1. Instructions on how to claim and the Prize (defined below) form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. This offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
2. Promoter
a. The promoter is the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (ABN 69 000 423 656), Level 2 50 Carrington Street, Sydney NSW 2000, telephone (02) 9239 6100.
3. Competition Period
a. The competition commences on 25 August 2022 AEST and ends on 11:59pm 28 October 2022 AEST.
4. Prize Description
a. The Prize shall consist of the following:
i. 2x BridgeClimb Sydney tickets worth up to AUD$656, or a Mastercard Pre-paid Gift Voucher of equal value of AUD$656.
b. The Winner will have the choice of selecting either the BridgeClimb tickets, or the Mastercard Pre-paid Gift Voucher – not both.
c. The Prize is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the BridgeClimb tickets and the Mastercard Pre-paid Gift Voucher.
d. The total value of the Prize is equivalent to AUD$656. There is one Prize available to win.
e. Use of the Prize or any part of the Prize is subject to availability and, where applicable, subject to suitable weather and conditions for any part of the Prize to be undertaken (including but not limited to any activity portion of the Prize). If any part of the Prize is unavailable or unable to be undertaken, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any part of the Prize in the Promoter’s sole discretion.
f. The Prize is not able to be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash and is subject to any terms and conditions imposed by any supplier of the Prize to the Promoter.
g. To claim the Prize, the Winner must reply to the Promoter with acceptance of the Prize, including their name and proof of identity.
h. The Promoter is not responsible for replacing or reimbursing the Winner if the Prize is lost or stolen.
5. Who can enter?
a. Entries are open to Australian and International residents who are 18 years or over. The Prize does not include any travel or other costs associated with the Prize. The winner shall be solely liable for any other costs.
b. An entrant must be an individual and not a company or organisation.
c. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this Competition are ineligible win to the Competition. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousins. Actuaries Institute Council members are ineligible to win this competition.
d. ICA2023 Volunteers, ICA2023 Organising Committee members, ICA Steering Committee members or ICA2023 Subcommittee members are ineligible to win the Competition.
6. How to enter the competition
a. To enter, the entrant must complete the following steps during the promotional period:
i. Hold in-person or virtual registration for the 2023 International Congress of Actuaries
ii. Take a photo of themselves in front of a bridge, name the bridge or the location of the bridge, and post it to LinkedIn with the hashtags #ICA2023 and #BridgeToTomorrow and tagging @ActuariesInstituteAustralia. Or - email the photo to ica2023@actuaries.asn.au with the name of the bridge in the subject line.
iii. Entry into the competition is free
iv. Entrants can only enter the competition once.
v. Entries submitted via social media or email before the competition period or after the end of the Competition Period will be invalid.
b.The competition is a game of chance. All entries properly received by the within the Competition Period will be entered into a draw to be automatically undertaken on 1 November 2022 AEST. The Prize Draw will involve a random selection of all Competition entrants’ details via their email address, name or social media handle.
c. The Competition winner selected from the Prize Draw will be announced on the Actuaries Institute ICA2023 Website on 2 November 2022 (“Winner”). The Winner will be contacted by email or via private direct message or LinkedIn (if their details are known to the Promoter).
d. The Winner must claim the Prize by no later than 11 November 2022 and use the Prize within the validity of the Prize voucher. If the Winner does not use the Prize prior to expiry of the Prize voucher, the Prize shall be forfeited without any liability to the Winner by the Promoter.
e. The Promoter reserves the right to request the Winner’s proof of identity, proof of residency and/or proof of valid entry in order to claim the Prize and properly issue the Prize to the Winner.
f. The Winner consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting the Competition (including any outcome)
g. Entrants are responsible for any and all expenses that they incur in entering or winning the competition.
h. Entrants will not be reimbursed regardless of whether or not they win the competition.
7. Disclaimers
a. The Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw in the event that an entrant, claiming to be a winner or qualifier, is unable to satisfy the terms or has breached the terms.
b. The Promoter has no responsibility to accept late, lost or misdirected entries.
c. Prize-winners acknowledge that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of that prize.
8. Privacy
a. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Competition. Any personal information collected is subject to our privacy policy.
