Nick Callil is Head of Retirement Solutions for Willis Towers Watson Australia. He leads the firm’s research in the area of retirement strategy, and consults to Australia’s leading superannuation funds, financial institutions and government bodies on superannuation and retirement, advising on retirement and accumulation phase design, default investment option strategy, longevity risk solutions, safe spending rates in retirement, lifecycle design and digital provision of retirement income projections.  He has authored papers spanning topics including retirement strategy for Trustees, bucket strategies in retirement, dynamic lifecycle strategies and evaluation metrics for retirement products. 

Nick is an actuary, an Adjunct Fellow at the Macquarie Applied Finance Centre and a member of ASFA’s Super System Design Policy Council. He is a regular speaker and presenter at industry and professional conferences in Australia and internationally.

Alissa Holz is Head of Business Development, Australia & New Zealand for RGA Reinsurance Australia (RGAA). With over 20 years’ experience in the life insurance industry, Alissa brings considerable depth of knowledge to the Australian business.

Alissa has a passion for developing innovative products and sustainable solutions, through partnering with clients and industry bodies. She provides valuable insight and expertise to RGAA as it looks to enhance the wellbeing of Australian and New Zealand citizens.

Previously for RGA, Alissa was Senior Vice President & Chief Pricing Actuary - Asian Markets, where she led the functional aspects of traditional pricing for RGA’s Asian operations. Her responsibilities encompassed the Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea and India markets, where her focus on understanding specific client needs and developing customised solutions, has led to significant and sustained growth in the Asia business.

Prior to working at RGA, Alissa served in various actuarial pricing and valuation roles at Suncorp handling; product development, capital management and experience analyses, among other duties.
Alissa received her Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mathematics from the Queensland University of Technology. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD), a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) and current convenor of the Education Standards Committee.

Annette King joined the Actuaries Institute Board in 2018. She is an experienced actuary, company director, and previously CEO, with over 30 years’ experience in financial services across Asia-Pacific. Prior to becoming a non-executive director, Annette had a successful track record as a CEO, CFO and CMO of significant financial institutions, as well as being a founder/entrepreneur. Annette has served large multinational companies (Swiss Re, AXA, Manulife, Mercer) and fintech companies (AFG, FNZ, Galileo Platforms).

Her focus is on business growth through differentiated client experience, organizational culture and innovation via digital and technology enablement. In addition to responsibilities in Australia and New Zealand, Annette has lived and worked for 14 years in Asia. She serves on the boards of Swiss Re, MLC Superannuation, Australian Finance Group (ASX: AFG), U Ethical Investors, Galileo Platforms and the Actuaries Institute.

She was previously President of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore, served on the Singapore Actuarial Society and the Hong Kong Advisory Committee for the AICD. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University. She is a member of AICD’s APRA Forum and a member of Chief Executive Women.

With more than 25 years of corporate and consulting financial services experience, she is an advocate for the insights actuaries can add to a wide variety of issues. She is Chair of the Actuaries Institute's working group on COVID-19, and a member of the Actuaries Institute's working group on Climate Change. In her spare time she writes her popular actuarial blog.

Nicolette is a former President of the Actuaries Institute. David Rush

David has over 30 years’ experience, and has extensive and deep involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of the new Insurance Accounting regime (IFRS 17 and the associated AASB 17) and its implications for all types of business. 

David is a member of the AASB Transition Resource Group for AASB 17, the Professional Standards Committee of the Actuaries Institute, and (of course) the Insurance Accounting Implementation Taskforce.  Over the years, he has also been a member of a number of other committees with the Actuaries Institute.  

David is currently with PFS Consulting as a Principal.  Prior to that he worked at KPMG Actuarial as a Director, at APRA where he was a senior executive, responsible for matters across Life and General insurance, Superannuation and ADIs, and also at AMP. He has also advised regulatory authorities in a number of jurisdictions on a range of supervisory matters.
