The Institute of Actuaries of Australia (the Institute) collects, holds, uses and discloses your personal information for the purpose of dealing with inquiries about potential complaints, investigating complaints that are lodged including any reviews or appeals that may arise from or in connection with complaints and to communicate with you about the complaint. If you do not provide us with this personal information we may not be able to deal with your inquiry or investigate your complaint.   We may also collect your personal information from third parties in connection with the complaint, including the member who is the subject of the complaint.  We may disclose your personal information to:

  • The member who is the subject of the complaint and their representative.
  • Staff of the Institute, the investigating committee, the disciplinary tribunal and the appeal board who are involved in the Disciplinary Scheme and its processes.
  • Third parties involved in the investigative and disciplinary processes such as our agents, contractors, and service providers (including expert witnesses, lawyers, transcript providers).

Your personal information may be transferred out of Australia for the purposes noted above.
