Early bird rate extended – COVID-19 update

The Actuaries Institute is keen to proceed with the hosting of the hybrid Actuaries Summit conference in Melbourne in May 2022 and provide members with the opportunity to connect in person.

However, we recognise the COVID-19 situation continues to change and so continue to monitor closely and will adapt our plans where necessary.

To help your planning, we’ve extended the in-person early bird date to Friday 18 February 2022 to allow more time for you to secure the discounted rate. We want to remind you that an in-person registration can be transferred to a virtual registration with full refund  before Friday 4 March 2022 under our Terms and Conditions below.

Registration for the virtual iteration will open February 2022.

Summit Registration Terms and Conditions

If a registrant is unable to attend the conference (in-person or virtually), the registration can be transferred to someone else at any time. If the substitution involves an attendee change from a Member to a Non-Member (or vice versa), any difference in the registration cost will be payable by you or refunded by us as applicable.

When the registrant is unable to attend (in-person or virtually), and is not in a position to transfer their place to another person, then the following refund arrangements apply:

  • 60 or more days of the conference: In-Person registrants may transfer to a virtual ticket and the difference (of the equivalent earlybird 1, 2 or full rate) will be as refunded. In-Person and Virtual registrants can cancel with no penalty.
  • Within 60 days (or less) of the conference: In-Person registrants may transfer to a virtual ticket, but no refunds are applicable. In the event of cancellation, refunds are not applicable for In-Person or Virtual registrants.

If the Actuaries Institute cancels the in-person component of the 2022 Summit and hosts a virtual 2022 Summit only:

  • In-Person registrants will be transferred to a virtual registration and the difference (of the equivalent earlybird 1, 2 or full rate) will be refunded.
  • Virtual registrations will be not be refunded.

If the Actuaries Institute postpones the 2022 Summit:

  • Your registration will be automatically held for the postponed 2022 Summit.
  • Refunds will be provided upon request.

Where no refunds are applicable. The Actuaries Institute may review this policy in the case of special circumstances, where sufficient evidence is provided.

Your attendance is subject to receipt and clearance of payment. Your name and organisation will appear on the 2022 Summit delegate list.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy: At their meeting on Wednesday 1 December, Council approved the Institute’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.  All Members and Non-Members need to be vaccinated to attend any Actuaries Institute events, committee meetings and social meetings in person, whether they are held at Institute HQ, or another venue in Australia or overseas.

Proof of double (or triple) vaccination will be required on site.  Vaccination will also be required for any international travel on behalf of the Institute. For those who are unable to get a vaccination due to health requirements, an exemption certificate and proof of a negative Rapid Antigen Test result within the last 72 hours will be required.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Our Code of Conduct calls for respect for all individuals.
