Each year the Actuaries Institute produces a comprehensive Year in Review to ensure that Members and other interested parties are fully informed about the Institute's activities and future plans.
2016 saw the actuarial profession build for the future as trusted advisors to business and government on key societal challenges; longevity risk, the impact of big data on insurance and the objectives of Australia's superannuation system, were just some of the issues which benefited from actuarial analysis in 2016.
Past President Lindsay Smartt reflects on his key themes for 2016 - relevance, sustainability and community - and CEO David Bell discusses five key challenges for the Institute. The Review also provides reports from Council Committees, Practice Committees, HQ business units and importantly, the member milestones achieved in 2016 and education prizes awarded.
