Mark is the Chief Risk Officer of Prudential UK & Europe with responsibility for overall risk management for the firm. Prudential is one of the UK's largest life insurers as well as being a major global organisation. Prior to joining Prudential he was the Group Chief Actuary and Director of ALM for Old Mutual plc a major Anglo-South African funds management and insurance group. Mark relocated from Sydney to London in 2011 having been the CRO of the Commonwealth Bank's insurance and asset management division.

Ian is currently the CFO and Chief Actuary at CommInsure and has over twenty years experience in insurance. Beginning his career in the UK, before moving to New Zealand in 1992, Ian joined Sovereign in 1999, where he was Chief Risk Officer and head of the Actuarial Team, before taking on the CFO mantle. Ian was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary at CommInsure in June 2012.

Gayle is a consulting actuary in India and the Appointed Actuary of an Indian General Insurer and has previously held both internal executive insurance and senior consulting roles in the Asia Pacific. Until recently Gayle was an independent company director of a health TPA with 10 million lives and a Chair of the Risk Management Committee. Gayle has also been the Chief Actuary and Head of Risk Management of two significant health insurers and been country head of an actuarial consulting firm. She has assisted stakeholders with product development and strategies, claims, provider management, distribution, ERM, mergers and acquisitions, market entry strategies and financial turn-arounds. Gayle has particular expertise in health financing.

Phillip is the Head of Group Capital and Pricing Intelligence at National Australia Bank and has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, having spent the last 8 years applying his actuarial training to opportunities in reward for risk management in banking.
Phillip began his career in Adelaide working for National Mutual, with an early focus on the traditional area of defined benefit superannuation. He transitioned into pricing and product management, which ultimately led to a role in pricing and capital management for the Business Banking division of NAB, and in recent years has worked in a Group role which provides advisory services, expertise and delivery of tools and processes to improve the Groups’ reward for risk outcomes as well as managing the economic capital capability and framework for the Group.
Phillip is also a member of the Actuaries Institute Banking Practice Committee.

Tony is a director of and adviser to several leading Australian and international organizations, including AMP Life Limited and Max BUPA Health Insurance Limited, and an Adjunct Professor at the Business and Economics Faculty of Macquarie University. Chief Risk Officer and Group Actuary of Insurance Australia Group (IAG) from 2000 to 2008, Tony was a Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) prior to joining IAG. His 15 year career at PwC included management roles, as well as a diverse range of business valuation, corporate finance and advisory work for both public and private sector clients.
Tony is a past President of the Actuaries Institute, former winner of the Actuary of the Year award and has held leadership roles in the International Actuarial Association (IAA).

Jasmine is Head of Enterprise Risk Management at Prudential Assurance Company Singapore, having relocated in 2013.
Starting her risk management career in 1998 with APRA, followed by Mercer in risk finance and insurance (RFI) consulting, Jasmine moved to CBA’s Wealth Management division in 2005 and specialised in market risk. After having children, she relocated to Hong Kong, joining Belgium insurer Ageas as Regional Head of Financial Risk for Asia, and most recently in 2013, settled in Singapore, joining UK insurer Prudential’s Singapore business as Head of Enterprise Risk Management. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, Jasmine's current role has oversight of operational risk, financial risk and business continuity management.

Greg is Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary at ClearView and has been since 2011. Prior to that he was a Partner with KPMG, where he provided a wide range of actuarial, capital and risk management consulting advice to the financial services sector for over 17 years.
As head of ClearView’s risk management team, Greg oversees the enterprise risk management of the group’s diverse business and is involved in all aspects of risk for ClearView – from facilitating risk workshops to overseeing risk reporting, working closely with Compliance and Internal Audit in monitoring operating controls, reviewing results and incidence, distilling and reporting risk metrics, status and KRIs to management and Boards, and overseeing the group’s integrated ICAAP regime.

Joe is Managing Director of CCK Financial Solutions Ltd and has over 30 years of experience in the design and development of Treasury Management and Wholesale Banking systems. His company's system, Guava, covers market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk and operational risk, and is used by Central Banks, Commercial Banks, Investment Banks and corporates in the Asia Pacific region.
Joe was named Actuary of the Year by the Actuaries Institute in 1994, Achiever of the Year at the WA Information Technology Awards in 1997, and is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society.

Head of Risk, QBE Australia
Andy is Head of Risk at QBE Australia, looking after Enterprise Risk Management, capital modelling and catastrophe modelling.
Through Andy’s career he has had the opportunity to work in all of the ‘traditional’ actuarial areas across a wide range of products, as well as less mainstream areas such as capital modelling and catastrophe modelling. This route led him to his current role in ERM looking after the risk management framework for QBE Australia and a key driver of the RMS, ICAAP and aggregate management.

Matt is a Director at Ernst & Young in Sydney, and has over 10 years of cross-industry risk and capital management experience, both in Australia and Europe.
Starting his career in risk management by developing and reviewing capital models in Europe and working to embed those models into risk management frameworks, Matt has since worked with CROs, regulators and business leaders on a range of ERM and risk-based projects.
Matt’s progression into non-traditional areas of risk management has seen him present at a number of industry risk forums on the value an actuary can bring to risk management outside of financial services. He has led engagements and worked on a number of projects in the education and government sectors, applying his problem solving, analytical, judgement and communication skills to solve complex risk-based problems.

Principal, Ramani Consulting
Ramani Venkatramani is a Principal at Ramani Consulting Pty Ltd. Between 1996 and 2011, he was a senior executive at ISC, and then APRA, where he applied ERM techniques, including managing the risks of risk-based supervision.
After qualifying as an actuary in 1977, Ramani diversified into banking, qualifing with the UK Chartered Institute of Bankers in 1986. In charge of investments and later finance, he used actuarial analysis to manage enterprise wide risks, including liquidity, asset liability, tax and profitability and refined his skills as a prudential regulator.
Ramani transferred to Australia, joining the ISC in 1996, where he investigated super losses and restored member benefits through enforcement. Ramani's joint paper, Actuarial Challenges in DC Schemes was awarded the Actuaries’ Institute’s inaugural financial services research prize in 2012.

Mike Thornton has over 20 years experience managing risk, capital and shareholder value, and a track record of building high performance teams in wealth management and life insurance companies in Australia and the UK.
Mike started his career at AXA Equity & Law in the UK, and followed the traditional actuarial life insurance route, before migrating to Australia in 200O to join AXA Asia Pacific in Melbourne. Mike was Group Chief Actuary and Group Chief Risk Officer at AXA Asia Pacific before his current role of Director, Group Risk Management at AMP.
Mike's progression from traditional actuarial life insurance work to being responsible for managing risk at the biggest non-bank financial services business in Australia resulted from strong communication skills and from pragmatically combining his commercial knowledge of insurance companies with his actuarial understanding of risk.

Joshua Corrigan is a Principal and Consultant with Milliman, where he leads Milliman’s Enterprise Risk Management activities for clients in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. He has designed, built, implemented and operated risk management frameworks for leading companies across the insurance, banking, wealth management, superannuation, energy, and industrial sectors for over 15 years.
Josh is an industry leader in the application of complex adaptive systems science to a range of business, strategic and enterprise risk management problems. He also has expertise in all aspects of the management of dynamic hedging programs, and was heavily involved in the establishment of the UK, European and Australian guaranteed variable annuity markets. Prior to joining Milliman in 2004, Josh was a senior actuary at NAB in London, and was an Associate Director at UBS Global Asset Management.
Josh is a regular presenter at industry forums on risk management, and has produced a large number of innovative research reports on various risk management topics.

Senior Manager and Actuary - Risk Appetite & Stress Testing
Starting at William Mercer, Kelvin Chan assessed the adequacy of pension funding in defined benefit plans which also included considering investment assumption risks on the asset side.
Keen to venture into non-traditional roles, Kelvin joined Management Science Group at Westpac which focused on using quantitative methods to aid decision making. Being an internal consultant provided exposure to a wide variety of work involving treasury balance sheet risks to delivery of M&A deals and assessing strategic risk.
At Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Kelvin gained opportunities to add value to wholesale market operations and derivatives product structuring which opened the door to managing execution risk regionally out of Hong Kong.
Kelvin is currently at HSBC Insurance, where he is responsible for advising business on setting risk appetite metrics, communicating the drivers behind movements in P&L, statutory and economic balance sheets and demonstrating the value of stress testing.
